The Chisinau City Hall informs that the relevant municipal authorities continue to provide personal assistance services to beneficiaries, in accordance with the provisions of the current legislation, despite financial pressures.

It is worth mentioning that the issue related to personal assistants remains politicized within the community by certain political parties.

In this context, Tatiana Oboroc, the Head of the General Direction for Child Rights Protection, stated during the operational meeting of municipal services that no personal assistants have been dismissed. Their working hours have been reduced from 40 to 20 hours per week after an assessment of the number of hours the beneficiary requires assistance.

"This action is completely correct and legal," emphasized Tatiana Oboroc.

In turn, the General Mayor Ion Ceban, reiterated that the municipality continues to guarantee this service. He mentioned that due to the government's actions putting pressure on the municipal budget of Chisinau, all previously allocated funds have been suspended. Thus, both the city of Chisinau and Gagauzia have been excluded from funding this program. It's important to note that personal assistants in Chisinau, Briceni, Cahul, or Gagauzia are equal in rights, and this competence belongs to the state.
