Chisinau City Hall informs that a monument of the mentor of the cultural institution was unveiled in front of the "Adam Mickiewicz" Library. The project was carried out with the support of the Polish Embassy in the Republic of Moldova.

The monument dedicated to the Polish writer Adam Mickiewicz was made by the sculptor Veaceslav Jiglițchi and is a gesture of appreciation of the contribution of the Polish writer to European and universal literature.

Present at the unveiling of the monument, Angela Cutasevici, the Deputy Mayor, said that the new urban sculpture will become an attraction for both tourists and Chisinau residents.

The composition harmonizes with the chosen place, which has become a special one for the Polish community of the city, not only thanks to the "Adam Mickiewicz" library, but also due to the neighborhood with Lech Kaczynski Street, named in honor of the former Polish president, who lost his life in a plane crash on April 10, 2010.
