The General Mayor, Ion Ceban, participated today in the reopening,  of the "Liviu Rebreanu" library, located 9, Socoleni street. The event was also attended by: Deputy Mayor, Angela Cutasevici, the Head of the  Culture Department, Steluța Mitriuc and the Director of the municipal library "B.P. Hasdeu", Mariana Harjevschi.

The mayor came with a symbolic gift for the institution, 350 books from the total lot of 9521 copies purchased by the municipality this year, which will be distributed to all branches of the Municipal Library „B.P. Hasdeu". The new batch of books will complete the volumes from the school curriculum and literature.

Ion Ceban made an inspection, after the repair of the library, both inside and outside, noting that there are still necessary landscaping works in the yard: terrace, tables for reading, where various outdoor activities can be organized. In this regard, the Mayor requested the involvement of the District City Hall and the General Department for Communal Housing and Landscaping Services.

The Mayor also noted that libraries are one of the problems of the municipal administration, mentioning that discussions are currently being held with the social investment Fund of Moldova and the Central authorities in order to obtain funds for the rehabilitation of the library headquarters "B. P. Hasdeu".

Library „L. Rebreanu " has not been repaired since the opening, since in 2007, so the intervention was necessary, given that the walls were cracked as a result of building a new building nearby.

166.2 thousand lei was allocated to library rehabilitation.
