The General Mayor attended the opening of the Mayor's Meeting within the framework of the USAID "My community" Program, where he made a welcoming speech. The event takes place online and brings together thematic sessions dedicated to improving public services at the local level from the Republic localities, beneficiaries of the Program.

In his speech, the Mayor said that the Local Public Administration Chisinau is currently developing several projects, strategies and concepts aimed at accelerating  the city and municipality development. "We have experience that we can apply, there are practices that can be useful to us, there are new technologies that we can apply and develop. In all the projects that we aim to achieve, we must have a sure goal, to improve the quality of citizens' life in our communities. We must use every opportunity that serves the purpose of community development so that the dwellers have a decent living at home. I also call on my fellow Mayors to be united and ready to cooperate in the current difficult situation, not at all easy, due to the pandemic."

In this context, the Chisinau's  Mayor thanked the United States Agency for international development USAID for ongoing projects, especially for technical assistance, noting that the municipality has a great potential for development, to be exploited. Mr. Ion Ceban also pointed out some projects of the current administration's aspirations that can be implemented at the local level with the support of USAID partners:

- multidimensional cooperation at the local level;

- support and expertise in order to increase the quality of public services;

- increased interest for involvement in new projects, such as: the pilot project Local Geographic Information System Platform within the  Local Public Administration.

This initiative involves the use of GIS solutions to improve management in the following areas: public heritage (land, buildings, monuments), urban functional cadastre, environment, transport, population and local economic activity, etc.
