Working visit of the General Mayor to the complex "Arena Chisinau"

Ion Ceban, the General Mayor together with Angela Cutasevici the deputy mayor on the social field and municipal councilors paid a working visit to the sports complex "Arena Chisinau" to be opened in May, this year. The administration of the capital along with representatives of sports federations and managers of the Complex "Arena Chisinau" discussed the need for cooperation between stakeholders in order to use the building, the development of the neighborhood near the complex and to overcome infrastructure problems to ensure access to the multipurpose objective.

Ion Ceban, the General Mayor mentioned that the municipality is evaluating the possibility of extending 2 access roads to the multifunctional sports complex: bd. Mircea cel Bătrân with exit to Bucovinei street, Ciocana District and Calea Orheiului, Râșcani District. Also, it is foreseen to extend the itineraries of 5 public transport routes: no. 166, 123, 140, 195 (minibus) and bus line no. 5.

The Mayor said that the municipality intends to organize at "Chisinau Arena" the Investment Forum planned for October, 2020.

According to the administration of the "Arena Chisinau" Complex the objective is a platform for various international and national activities, sports, concerts, exhibitions, trainings, etc., so it is necessary to work with stakeholders to develop the calendar of events and to obtain advantages by all interested subjects.

The complex "Arena Chisinau" is located on a plot of 10 ha, near Stăuceni. Currently, the objective is completed on the inside in proportion of 99%. It includes the main game room and training room. The building is provided for sports activities such as basketball, volleyball, handball, mini-football, etc. The multifunctional complex includes an aquapark, fitness rooms, pools for training and sports competitions, seven open tents for tennis, etc. More work is needed from a logistical point of view. A space of 59 ha is to be developed.
