The Chisinau City Hall informs that the "DOR de Chisinau" festival will be organized in the capital on 17-18 August 2024.
This event aims to bring together Moldovans from all over the country in the heart of the country.
"August is the month when Moldovans living abroad come back home, and we want to offer them, here in Chisinau, pleasant moments with their loved ones," said Alina Tabacari, head of the General Direction of Culture and Cultural Heritage, during the "Chisinau LIVE" podcast.
"DOR de Chisinau" is organized at the people's request, so the municipality strives to offer the public an emotional journey to the roots.
The Festival's program includes recitals by artists from Moldova, popular both at home and abroad, meetings with writers, art exhibitions, craft fairs, creative workshops and film screenings.
Festival activities will take place on the Eugen Doga pedestrian street.
It is worth mentioning that in recent years, Chisinau City Hall is getting closer and closer to the diaspora.
"Our compatriots abroad are eager for home and artists. People are always grateful and thank us because we manage to bring them a piece of their homeland where they are, because even though they have been gone for many years, their longing for home and traditions remains very strong," the head of the General Direction of Culture and Cultural Heritage also added.
The "DOR de Chisinau" festival will take place from August 17-18, 2024 and will culminate with a Diaspora Horde (horă), a symbol of unity.
