Ion Ceban, the General Mayor had a meeting on Wednesday with Viorel Bostan, the rector of the Technical University of Moldova and with Ghenadie Țepordei, the head of the Public Property Agency focused on the discussions of the initiation of SMART (automated) parking projects in the capital.

Another topic discussed was the intention to sign a partnership agreement with TUM, on various areas of intervention, such as consulting and technical expertise on projects carried out by municipal authorities, on the use of information technology in the administration of municipal public authorities. Also, the participants in the talks announced about the initiative to carry out a joint project of the City Hall and TUM, the first automated parking that can be created in Chisinau, in the city center, near the building of the Technical University of Moldova, 31 August 1989, no. 78.

"We want to increase the number of such projects and partnerships in the future. In this sense, we also discuss with the Public Property Agency, to identify the locations, after all the procedures related to the parking concept and the studies we need to carry out are completed, by the end of this year, so that next year we can launch what the people of Chisinau expect: parking spaces in the historic area, solutions for residential areas and entrances to the city. We are working in this regard and we hope for long-awaited results ", Ion Ceban said.

In his turn, Viorel Bostan, the rector of TUM thanked the Mayor for co-opting the higher education institution in the municipality's projects, noting that this is natural because TUM is part of Chisinau and should be involved in solving the city's problems.

"We are ready to get involved on the consulting / expertise side as well. We have a valuable potential for scientific and teaching staff, and many of our colleagues have been involved so far in solving various problems. The automated parking that was discussed will allow us to position ourselves directly in a new innovative ecosystem, to help you develop this, to learn modern technologies in city management, SMART technologies. I am convinced that this project can be multiplied, because the problem of parking in the city of Chisinau is a pressing one. Likewise, as we have been involved in proposing various solutions for public transport, streamlining traffic ", Viorel Bostan mentioned.

At the same time, the head of the Public Property Agency stated that the institution will support the projects initiated by the City Hall, including SMART parking, emphasizing that PPA will advocate that all public property be used by all citizens, including municipal and republican.
