Chisinau LPA informs that municipal hospitals treating COVID-19 patients have reached the maximum capacity, 1042 beds in the capital institutions are occupied. At the same time, 5-10 patients can be received daily in hospital instead of the people who are discharged.

Thus, the municipality's call to citizens is to show solidarity with doctors, state institutions and those around us, by complying with safety measures, especially wearing a protective mask, including in open spaces.

Boris Gîlcă, deputy head of the General Department of Social Assistance and Health, informed on Monday, during the operative meeting of the municipal services, that the medical system is prepared for providing specialized assistance, being equipped with medicines, equipment and consumables to rescue critically ill patients, but the places in the intensive care units are occupied.

The local authorities collaborate with the Ministry of Health and other republican hospitals to deal with these pressures. At the same time, it is expected that in the next period the 200 beds prepared at the COVID Chisinau Center from MOLDEXPO will be activated, in order to be able to provide medical assistance to all those who need these services.

"Together we can deal with the COVID pandemic by complying with the public health rules imposed by the authorities, including by wearing a protective mask," said the head of the General Department of Social Assistance and Health.

In this context, Ion Ceban, General Mayor mentioned that the employees of City Hall must be an example for the citizens, by wearing the mask. Because other employees try to save lives: thousands of health workers working in special equipment, education workers or those who provide household services, etc.

"Let's stop complaining and do our best to succeed in minimizing the number of cases of COVID-19 infection with basic safety measures. And this is necessary to avoid a return to the restrictions. So please be understanding and responsible," the Mayor concluded.

We remind you that in case of need, citizens are called to contact the "112" emergency service.
