Suspension of road traffic on certain streets in the capital in connection with the "Velohora" 2024 cycling competition
The Chisinau City Hall informs that this week the Urban Park of Busses will be supplied with 16 modern high-capacity busses.
The articulated transport units of the model Solaris Urbino that have been recently purchased are 2nd hand, and have a capacity of 143 sits. It will be launched on the urban and suburban courses.
Information to this regard have been presented on Monday, August 21, within the operative meeting of municipal services by the deputy mayor of the capital city, Mr. Ilie Ceban.
According to Mr. deputy mayor the municipal authorities is analyzing the demand of the residents of Chisinau Municipality to cover the problematic courses with additional transport units, but will have to take into account the large dimensions of the vehicles and the necessary infrastructure for such lengths (parking spots, turning zones, etc.)
Mr. Ilie Ceban have requested the Department for urban mobility to research additionally on which addresses is necessary to increase the capacity of transportation, thus before September 1, A.C. Municipal Transport Directorate should supplant the number of units.
Furthermore, in the near future other 10 articulated trolleybuses (electric busses), 2nd hand, recently purchased will be added to the Trolleybus park of Regia Electric Transport. The 18 Solaris Urbino transport units will be launched on the most crowded urban courses.
It must be emphasized that in recent years the municipal park of public transport has been supplied with 174 additional busses and 75 addition trolleybuses.
